What does it mean, this war?
Does it mean the skies will fill with death
Falling like rain from the clouds
To the Earth?
Or maybe Death will come creeping round corners
Picking out the ones who matter most
To carry away.
To never be seen again, never to laugh again or cry again.
Oh Death leave us be.
Take the war-makers, leave us the world – to soothe
To mend, to love again.
Like this one. It’s calm and gentle, a reminder of what is at risk.
Thanks James, it’s a heart-breakingly horrific tragedy for Ukraine. I am an admirer of President Zelensky for his determination and calm exterior. Hopefully he and his country will be victorious.
